These options are the cure for all that ails the CRFs. Intake Valve Wear, excessive valve adjustments and hard starting issues! If you get confused with all the options just call.
Head machining is performed on our race developed Rottler SG7 seat and guide machine with special designed tooling for the powersports industry. Old school seat cutting methods don’t work on these newer high RPM MX race heads. Extreme wear is the price we pay for competitive 4-stroke power and the following packages solve these problems.
$169 General 4 Valve head service (PN# G4VS) includes removing the valves, decarbonize and clean the head. We inspect the entire head and valve train and estimate any additional service needs. All seats are cut concentric to the guide axis using a high flow multi angle cutting tip. The head is then professionally assembled and vacuum tested to insure quality. Motorcycle valves are hard faced and can not be re-ground. We stock a wide variety of OEM, Stainless and Titanium valves or you can supply your own. 3-4 day turnaround! Service only, no parts included.
$449 Economy Stainless Steel Endurance Package (PN# CRSSEP) Includes the G4VS service above plus valve train parts. Stainless steel intake valve kit with heavy duty high quality springs, two stainless steel exhaust valves with new springs and four guide seals assembled and tested. We suggest this package for trail riders and for those that seldom hit the rev limiter. There is a 1.5hp loss and the engine revs a bit slower whenever steel intake valve kits are used in place of original Titanium. Most 450 riders hardly feel the power loss but it is noticeable on the 250cc.
$299 Retains 100% HP plus Option #1, Better than a new head! (PN# CRFHP1) The perfect full power cure for all premature CRF head wear. This combination retains full power with Titanium valves and outwears the heavy stainless valve options. Includes Beryllium Copper intake seats that are 100% compatible Titanium Valves and Bronze Manganese exhaust Guides. You get the general head service (G4VS) plus .010" oversized Beryllium Intake seats machined into your head. CRF exhaust guides wear out almost as fast as the valves due to rocker arm action. We replace these with a self lubricating, high thermal conducting alloy guide. We highly suggest this package for all forms of racing especially 250’s.
$599 Retains 100% HP plus Option #2. (PN# CRFHP2) Opt #1 plus valve train parts and seat blending / porting. Parts include all new OEM Titanium intake valves, Stainless Kibblewhite or FactionMX Black Nitrided exhaust valves, valve springs, and guide seals, assembled and tested. We also seat blend which is a form of porting where its most needed, between the seat and head casting up to the guide. This corrects 75% of the flow problems. This is our most popular full power plus package and is ready to bolt on.
$395 All seats and guides replaced. 4 Valve Head Rebuild. (PN# 4VHR) We usually end up doing this job after a catastrophic failure (broken valve, detonation, etc. or someone cut the seats to deep or off centered (non concentric). This is also the start of what we do when building a complete race head. Any damage is welded and we then machine in all new Beryllium Seats and Bronze Manganese guides and then cut the seats to either a race or endurance profile. This price includes the seats, guides and machining only. It does not include removing or replacing the valve train.
$695 New Head with Economy Stainless Steel Endurance Package (PN# NHCRSSEP)
$479 New Head with Beryllium intake seats machined in (PN# NHBS) High flow seat profile blended up to the guides. Includes exhaust seat blending also. Includes the seats only.
$879 New Head with Option #2 Beryllium intake seats no exhaust guides. (PN# NHHP2) By using the Black Nitrited exhaust valves guide wear is minimized and not replaced in a new head.
$1495 CRF450 FastHeads Race Head. (PN# CRF450RRH) All new Beryllium Seats and Bronze Manganese guides. Exhaust guides are increased to 5.5mm to accept Titanium 5.5mm stemmed Xceldyne super duty valves. Intake valves are Xceldyne Titanium also. The seats are cut to race with a multi angle radius profile and seats are blended into a complete port job. Porting is base on your needs, either more top or more low end. You also get Titanium retainers, viton guide seals, new cotters and Xceldyne race springs. It also includes a cam based on your needs and the valve shims are adjusted. If you want this done on a new head cost will depend on the year. Usually about $275 to $350. Rocker arm, rocker pin and lifters are not included in price.
$1495 CRF250 FastHeads Race Head. (PN# CRF250RRH) Same valve train and service as CRF450 except we keep the Ti exhaust valves at 5mm. On the 2008+ head we increase the 4.5 stem and guide to 5mm.
$35 Valve Adjustment. Send in your head with cam, lifters, rocker arm, rocker pin, and current shims. (PN# VA)
